Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has expressed his shock over Alisson being left out of Brazil's latest international squad.
Brazil take on Morocco in a friendly this Saturday but Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson has surprisingly been overlooked for the fixture despite being his country's first-choice option at the World Cup in Qatar.
Ramon Menezes, interim coach of the Seleção as the search for Tite's permanent successor goes on, has included Ederson in his 23-man squad for this weekend alongside two keepers currently plying their trade in the Brazilian top-flight: Mycael (Athletico Paranaense) and Weverton (Palmeiras).

Offering his view on Alisson being overlooked by Menezes to face Morocco, Ederson told reporters: "The first moment I saw the list I was surprised, but it’s the coach’s decision. They are choices, I thought he would be on the list, but he was not.
"I do not know why, if it is a matter of opportunities for younger players. But we have to work, give our best, every day there is a good new player who can take that responsibility too.
“I think it’s too early for that (talk of him being number one). Of course it is always important to start a cycle, for me it is no different and I hope to start in the best way possible. But we know it is a long cycle, many things can happen, you can live many phases during this period. You have to work as hard as possible, maintain consistency so you can be here as many times as possible.”
Alisson was not the only Liverpool player who failed to make the cut, however. The Reds trio of Arthur Melo, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino were also left out of the Brazil squad, a decision Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to be unhappy with as he aims to attack the remaining 12 fixtures of the Premier League season with as many players as possible in peak physical condition.
