Crystal Palace had a brilliant summer transfer window, bringing in several players that have had an immediate presence in the first team under new manager Patrick Vieira.
In one transfer window, the spine of the Eagles team changed. Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi were brought into the defence, Conor Gallagher and Will Hughes boosted the midfield while Odsonne Edouard and Michael Olise came in to provide even more competition for places among the forward ranks.
This was the first step in Palace's recent regeneration, with the club taking a new direction by appointing Vieira as Roy Hodgson's successor and giving him the task of trying to make them an established top half side in the Premier League.
That job is already well underway; Palace are floating around the middle of the table at the halfway stage of the season which Steve Parish said put them well ahead of schedule.
The Eagles have suffered some setbacks this season however due to Covid cases disrupting their squad, prompting Vieira to say he wanted to dip into the January transfer window to bolster his ranks.
But with two weeks of the January transfer window already gone and Palace yet to make any deals, there isn't much time left to make any signings.
There have been several names linked with moves to SE25 over the past few weeks and months, with Vieira saying he'd prefer to bring some experience into the squad.
Will he and Parish be able to secure a late deal for Eddie Nketiah? Or will the rumours linking them with a move for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey be true?
