England's Australian-born coach Eddie Jones has engaged in a fiery confrontation with a spectator, who labelled him a "traitor" during his team's 21-17 victory over the Wallabies at the SCG on Saturday night.
Footage posted to social media showed a spectator wearing a Wallabies supporter cap sledging Jones, who coached the Wallabies between 2001 to 2005.
As his security detail tried to hold him back, Jones pushed past to charge at the spectator on the fence line.
"What did you say? What did you say?" a furious Jones asked the spectator.
The spectator appeared shocked by Jones's reaction and backed off.
Jones was born in Tasmania and grew up in Sydney, before representing NSW in rugby union at the senior level during the 1980s.
He did not mention Saturday night's incident in the post-match press conference at the SCG, but following England's Brisbane Test victory said he had taking great delight in silencing Wallabies supporters via the match result.
After Saturday night's victory, England captain Courtney Lawes said his team was motivated by "smack" comments made by a number of Wallabies players in the media in the lead-up to the match.
"We saw plenty of stuff in the press about some of our players and what they were saying," Lawes said.
"Some people targeting Gengey [prop Ellis Genge], some people calling us 'Poms' and what not.
"It's all fuel for our tank. Any good team uses that as motivation I think."
England won the three-Test series 2-1.
