Eddie Jones has left Henry Slade, Elliot Daly, Joe Marler and Danny Care out of his England autumn squad.
The Red Rose boss named a 36-strong squad this morning which includes the Premiership’s joint top try scorers Max Malins and Cadan Murley. Her also revealed that Danny Kerry, who coached Great Britain’s women to 2016 Olympic hockey glory, has joined England’s backroom staff as a ‘training co-ordinator’.
Jack Willis is the only player from either Wasps or Worcester selected to the squad ahead of next week’s five-day Jersey training camp.
England play Twickenham Tests next month against Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa.
Those missing from the squad due to injury include Jamie George, Alex Dombrandt, George Ford and Tommy Freeman.
“This is a very strong, vibrant squad and a number of good players have been left out,” said Jones. “We are pleased with the depth and the strength.
“The autumn internationals will be like a mini Rugby World Cup for us, starting with two tough games against Argentina and Japan which mirrors our Pool fixtures at next year’s tournament.
“Then we’ll have knock out type games against New Zealand and South Africa – all four games will be great Tests for us.”
