Newcastle United could finally be mathematically safe from relegation this weekend should results go their way but a tricky trip to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday awaits them.
The Magpies lost their first home game of the year against City’s title rivals Liverpool last weekend in a narrow 1-0 defeat, as they missed the opportunity to climb further up the table.
And following that loss to the Reds, Eddie Howe has told his players that they “have to be much better” if they are to avoid the same fate against the league leaders and lose a second game in a row.
