Eddie Howe insists there is no time to sit around and pat himself on the back during the winter break as he turns his attention to the second-half of the season. Saturday's 1-0 win over Chelsea sees Newcastle United enter said break in third-place, just two points behind champions Manchester City.
The victory also means Howe has now gone 10 Premier League games unbeaten for the first time in his managerial career. Asked about the record in the post-match press conference, the Magpies boss was as modest as ever, offering a familiar response by saying he won't be sitting back and reflecting on his Newcastle achievements just yet.
"That's nice to hear, I didn't realise my record was that bad!" Howe quipped. "On a serious note, looking back is not something I do particularly well. In terms of patting myself on the back, it's not something I really do.
