Shay Given believes Eddie Howe is the ideal manager to help Anthony Gordon fulfil his potential at Newcastle United.
The 21-year-old joined the Magpies from Everton for a an initial fee of £40 million, which is expected to rise to £45 million in add-ons.
Gordon spent 10 years at Everton after joining their academy following his release from Liverpool at the age of 11. He made his senior debut in December 2017 and scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 78 appearances for the Toffees across all competitions.
The England under-21 international was subject to serious interest from Chelsea back in the summer, and his versatility across the front-line could prove an invaluable asset for the Magpies.

Former Newcastle goalkeeper Given insists Howe is the 'right coach' to help Gordon improve, and has tipped the young forward for a 'massive future' at the highest level.
"I am not surprised because he's a top player. Not so long ago, Chelsea wanted to sign him for £60 million, so if the figures are right, £40 million, then I think it's a good deal for Newcastle," Given told Sky Sports.
"He's 21 years of age, he's got a massive future ahead of him, and with Eddie Howe, he's got the right coach and manager to get the best out of him and to improve him as a player.
"It's a massive transfer not just for January but for the course of the whole season. I'll be interested to see if anything happens tonight because Chris Wood left a little bit earlier in the window.
"Eddie Howe said after that it frees up a striker's position, so does that mean that Anthony Gordon will give Isak and Wilson cover?
"I know he's an attacking player but not an out-and-out striker. Newcastle already have a really good squad, and now they have a very good squad."
