Eddie Howe explains Joelinton substitution and intensity in build-up to Newcastle United trip to Spurs

Eddie Howe Joelinton Newcastle United Newcastle Spurs Everton

Newcastle United star Joelinton will be assessed after being forced off during the 1-0 win over Everton.

The Brazilian will be eager to play at Spurs this weekend at the venue he grabbed his first Toon goal back in 2019. But Eddie Howe won't take any chances as the games come thick and fast.

Howe said: "He took a knock to his knee in a tackle. "I think it's just a knock at this stage, so no twist, I don't think any injury to the joint, but he was in pain, he couldn't continue, so fingers crossed he'll be okay."
