Newcastle United star Joelinton will be assessed after being forced off during the 1-0 win over Everton.
The Brazilian will be eager to play at Spurs this weekend at the venue he grabbed his first Toon goal back in 2019. But Eddie Howe won't take any chances as the games come thick and fast.
Howe said: "He took a knock to his knee in a tackle. "I think it's just a knock at this stage, so no twist, I don't think any injury to the joint, but he was in pain, he couldn't continue, so fingers crossed he'll be okay."
United will round off what has been a demanding week with their visit to the capital to face Antonio Conte's men. Newcastle were hammered 5-1 in the reverse fixture last term.
Howe said: "It takes its toll. "The more games you have in a short period of time, the more demands go up.
"I thought you could probably see it was our second game in quick succession and Everton had an extra day recovery. "I think you could probably see that in the game, but that’s where you have to dig deep into your reserves of concentration, and the players deserve a huge amount of credit for that.
"I think we’re capable of delivering it in a three-game week. I don’t see an issue with that. "We have a bit of rest before Tottenham and hopefully we can give a strong performance."
