Eddie Howe says he knew Newcastle United's incoming business was completed with four hours to spare in the summer transfer window.
A deal for Harrison Ashby did not go through because demands and assurances from West Ham proved too much. But Howe was still delighted with work in the window this year.
At his Press conference, he said today: "A very good window for us, I think. From my side, I had a clear vision of what I wanted it to be and it's never perfect but from the board down everyone's given their all to create the best squad possible."

Newcastle were keen to do more than they did with deals for the likes of Joao Pedro and James Maddison not coming off, for example.
Howe said: "I found the window to be very difficult this year - it was very long. I'm pleased it's shut and we can concentrate on the football. I'm very pleased with the squad that's there."
Howe then spoke about departing goalkeeper Martin Dubravka - who signed for Man United - but refused to shut the door on the Slovakian star.
He said: "Martin is obviously still our player, he's on loan. We didn't want to lose him but you have to understand and respect the player's wishes. Hopefully we've come to a situation that suits him."
And speaking about departing defender Federico Fernandez, Howe said: "What an incredible professional. A great guy and I can't speak highly enough of him and his contribution. Unfortunately for us he picked up a couple of injuries so we didn't see a lot of him on the pitch but behind the scenes he was incredible."
