Eddie Hearn has given his prediction for Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte next month. Fury was mandated by the WBC to defend his heavyweight belt against Whyte but negotiations had proven to be difficult, with purse bids delayed on no fewer than four occasions, however a fight was then agreed in February.
The fight will take place under the Wembley arch with a record purse bid and in front of a capacity crowd in what could be the biggest British boxing fight of the 21st century so far. Fury and Whyte are now both in training camps ahead of the bout.
Fury's camp have been frustrated with Whyte in the build up for the fight, who failed to turn up to the pair's press conference seemingly in protest over the purse bid which was won by Frank Warren's team. Whyte remained in Portugal for the press conference, having demanded a private jet to bring him over, with Warren branding the Londoner 'unprofessional' for failing to turn up.
This allowed Fury to declare the event 'the Tyson Fury show', adding: "This isn't about Dillian Whyte - it's about me." Fury took his chance to dub Whyte as a 'coward' ahead of the fight and steal the show, with a clever new nickname for the mandatory challenger.
The Gypsy King also accused Whyte's promoter, Hearn, of telling the Body Snatcher to stay away from the press conference - something Hearn has denied.
And this afternoon, the promoter has given his prediction ahead of the fight. He told DAZN: "Tyson Fury in my opinion doesn't carry the power to take Dillian Whyte out. I believe actually when they trade up left hooks Tyson Fury will go to sleep, and he will go to sleep in round 11."
Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, added his confidence in Fury, lauding him as the best heavyweight of his generation: "I think he is the best heavyweight in my time - he's definitely the best of his generation.
"He boxxed Klitschkho's head off - and he beat Deontay Wilder, the hardest puncher in history, three times. That is his versatility."
