Eddie Gray believes Leeds United have shown ‘enough’ this season to suggest they are capable of staying in the Premier League. The Whites have picked up nine points from their opening eight matches but have seen a slump in form in recent weeks.
After a blistering start, Leeds have drawn two and lost three of their last five – all in fixtures they will have felt were realistic to target wins from. That has caused some concern among supporters that another relegation fight is on the horizon, particularly given the already congested nature of the bottom half.
But speaking to West Yorkshire Daily, Leeds legend Gray thinks some of the performances have warranted more points and patience will be required.

He said: “You don’t need to be a scientist to know we need to get points on the board. Football’s about winning matches, but I don’t think we’ve played as bad as the results suggest.
“I thought the first half last weekend we were very good but let it slip in the second half. But what I think people have got to realise is that when Jesse first came into the club we were fighting a relegation battle, and you don’t just go from avoiding relegation to a top-six side in one go – it’ll take a bit of building.
“Supporters are going to be worried, but I think I have seen enough to think that we’ll get enough points.”
