Ed Sheeran wins 'Shape of You' copyright lawsuit: Hopefully we can all get back to writing songs than having to prove we can write them

British singer Ed Sheeran has won the lawsuit over allegedly plagiarising artist Sami Chokri's track for his hit single 'Shape of You'.

In the case heard at the High Court on Wednesday, Justice Zacaroli concluded that Sheeran “neither deliberately nor subconsciously” copied a phrase from 'Oh Why' when writing 'Shape of You' that is most streamed song in Spotify’s history, the Guardian reported.
