Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran can be seen in tears in the new trailer for his upcoming Disney+ docu-series, The Sum Of It All. The series, which is due to be released in May, will see the 32-year-old deal with his wife Cherry Seaborn's health scare and the tragic death of his best friend Jamal Edwards.
The new trailer opens with a series of videos of a young Ed performing. He comments: "Ginger hair, really short, he stutters. That guy doesn't become a pop star... it's so unlikely."
"Everything in my life got so much better when Cherry came into it. I got married, I became a dad who has two daughters," Ed says over videos of his wife. Earlier this year, the singer revealed that his wife was diagnosed with a tumour while she was pregnant with their second child - read more about that here.

In the trailer, Ed breaks down in tears on stage, as his wife says: "I've never seen him cry on stage. He hasn't had the time to process and be at peace with his thoughts." Ed then comments: "I feel like every moment I'm learning, life is unpredictable things can change really quickly.”
As shots of the late Jamal are then shown, Ed continues: "Loss, it just took over my life. Every time something massive happened I tend to write a song about it." Jamal Edwards, the son of Loose Women star Brenda, passed away in February last year aged 31 following a drug overdose.
Speaking about why he decided to make the personal documentary, Ed said in a statement: "I’ve always been very guarded in my personal and private life; the only documentary I’ve ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting.
"Disney approached me to make a four-part documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in. I hope people enjoy it." Ed Sheeran: The Sum Of It All releases on Disney+ on Thursday, May 4. For more TV and showbiz stories, subscribe to our newsletter here.
