Ed Sheeran's Philadelphia concert drew attention online on Sept. 19 after a photograph showed blocks of unoccupied seating at Lincoln Financial Field before his performance. The image circulated as the British singer-songwriter resumed his Loop Tour following the removal of Macklemore from the remaining US dates and the withdrawal of several supporting acts.
For context, the Philadelphia concert had initially been advertised for a 5:30 p.m. start to accommodate its opening acts. Ticketmaster later listed the event for 8 p.m. after the supporting lineup changed. Local reporting also showed resale tickets remained available in the hours before the performance, including some priced from $32.25 (£23.68).
