EasyJet to launch new flights from Glasgow Airport to Egypt later this year

Budget airline easyJet will be launching a new route from Glasgow to Egypt later this year as holidaymakers prepare to jet off abroad for the Christmas break.

The airline today (July 6) announced that flights from Glasgow Airport to Hurghada will be running twice a week from November 8 - ideal for families wanting to experience Egypt's scuba diving hotspot.

It spells good news for travellers wanting to get away to sandy beaches for some respite from your day-to-day life, and you won't need to break the bank while doing so.

Flights on new routes for this winter are now available to book starting from just £35.99.

“easyJet have already launched several new routes for Glasgow Airport this year; including to Porto and Lisbon; and this additional new route marks an exciting expansion for easyJet and demonstrates our commitment to providing our passengers with diverse and enticing travel options.

“Hurghada is a stunning destination known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and rich cultural heritage. We are confident that this addition will be welcomed by leisure travellers seeking a sun-soaked getaway this winter.”

Ali Gayward, easyJet's UK Country Manager, added: “We’re delighted to be launching even more new routes from our airports across Scotland to a range of fantastic destinations, providing evening more choice for our customers this winter whether they’re looking for a Christmas getaway, hitting the slopes or chasing the winter sun and we can’t wait to welcome more customers on board.”

Since launching operations to and from Scotland nearly 30 years ago, easyJet has grown to become the largest airline in Glasgow and overall, in Scotland and now serves four Scottish airports - Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Inverness, employing over 720 people locally, serving more customers and offering more connections to a greater range of destinations to ever before.
