EasyJet to add more Edinburgh flights with arrival of ninth aircraft based in capital

EasyJet are to ramp up their flights from Edinburgh with the arrival of their ninth aircraft to the capital's airport.

The budget airline, who already have eight planes permanently based in the capital, are set to add another which will result in more flights leaving the city this summer.

Just days ago, the easyJet's summer roster of flights was announced with additional routes from Edinburgh also announced, reports Breaking Travel News.

EasyJet will be operating an extra plane in the capital starting this summer, boosting its number of seats in Scotland throughout the year. As of Thursday, fliers can now book flights next year between May 9 and September 30.

With travel chaos hitting the nation in 2022 due to holidaymakers making up for lost time during the pandemic, airports, aviation services and airline's faced one of their busiest period to date.

EasyJet will be hoping to ease the congestion ahead of summer 2023 with the arrival of their ninth aircraft, with as many as 14,000 flights from the Scotland heading to destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, commented: “Nearly three decades ago we launched the airline with services from London Luton to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Twenty-seven years on, Scotland remains an important focus for easyJet and we continue to see opportunity in Scotland, which is why we are delighted to be adding an additional aircraft to our Edinburgh airport base to serve even more customers in Scotland next summer.

“We are also delighted to be putting our flights for summer 2023 on sale today, so customers can book early to snap up the best fares across our network and find a great-value summer getaway in the most fantastic beach and city destinations Europe has to offer.

“With seats now available across thousands of flights serving four Scottish airports on over 70 routes to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, now is a great time to book for next summer with easyJet.”

Flights for next summer are now available to book via easyJet.com.
