Passengers on an EasyJet flight from Greece to Manchester Airport were left stranded in Rhodes over the weekend without accommodation. EasyJet confirmed that some passengers were not provided with accommodation overnight after they cancelled a flight that was meant to depart on Saturday, July 2.
The airline explained that this was due to ‘limited hotel availability’ in Rhodes. EasyJet have apologised for the difficulty put on to customers - some of whom had to source their own accommodation.
A spokesperson for EasyJet said: “EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY1816 from Rhodes to Manchester on July 2 was overnight delayed and rescheduled to depart for Manchester on Sunday.
“We did all possible to minimise the impact of the disruption for our customers, offering hotel accommodation and meals where required. Unfortunately, due to limited hotel room availability in Rhodes, we were unable to provide rooms for all customers and advised that anyone who sourced their own hotel accommodation will be reimbursed for any reasonable expenses.
“Nonetheless we fully understand the difficulty the overnight delay in Rhodes will have caused our customers and we are very sorry.”
