easyJet flights to 'food capital of the world' from Liverpool John Lennon Airport

easyJet has announced a new route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to a city some have branded as the "food capital of the world".

The airline confirmed holidaymakers will be able to fly directly to Lyon from December 13. Flights to Lyon will also run twice a week on a Wednesday and Friday.

French food is rightly celebrated across the world as it is the birthplace of fine dining techniques still implemented by the top chefs today. Lyon stands tall as it is acknowledged by the French as the gastronomic capital in the country.

There are more restaurants per head in Lyon than in any other city in France and travellers can now get a sample of the amazing food on offer in this city. Lyon is the birthplace of haute cuisine and is famous for its traditional cooking as there are countless fine dining restaurants to enjoy in the city.

Flights to Lyon are priced from £27.99 and there is also a holiday package available priced at £291 per person for three nights at the 4* Bioparc in Lyon on a Bed & Breakfast basis. This includes 23kg of luggage per person and flights from Liverpool John Lennon on December 13, 2023.

The route to Lyon was announced on the same day that easyJet announced flights to Hurghada in Egypt. The airline's UK Country manager said they are thrilled to be able to offer new destinations for holidaymakers.

Ali Gayward said: "We’re delighted to be launching two new routes and holidays from Liverpool to Hurghada and Lyon, providing even more choice for our customers this winter whether they’re looking for a Christmas getaway, hitting the slopes or chasing the winter sun and we can’t wait to welcome more customers on board.”
