An easyJet flight from Belfast to Alicante was forced to divert to France due to a medical emergency after a passenger required urgent assistance.
The easyJet flight left Belfast International Airport on Tuesday, May 3, but was forced to land in Brest, after a passenger became unwell and needed medical help.
Once the plane landed at the airport in France, the passenger requiring medical assistance was met by paramedics, BelfastLive reported.
Passengers were made to wait around two hours before setting off again to their original destination Alicante.
Although the condition of the passenger seeking medical help is not known, easyJet has said that the wellbeing of its customers and crew are of its highest priority.
An easyJet spokesperson said: "easyJet can confirm that flight EZY6701 from Belfast to Alicante diverted to Brest due to a passenger on board requiring urgent medical assistance.
"Paramedics met the aircraft on arrival in Brest and the flight is due to continue to Alicante.
"The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is our highest priority.”
The incident comes after easyJet passengers were forced to endure an 11-hour flight after their plane travelled to their destination of Madeira.
The plane circled several times and returned to Bristol after windspeeds deemed it too unsafe to land.
When they arrived back in Bristol, passengers describe "chaotic" scenes as everyone was left waiting for almost three hours before they were told what would happen next.
