'I tried this easy recipe to use up my leftover Christmas chocolate'

Most of use still have the signs of Christmas in our cupboards with half eaten boxes of chocolates and unopened selection boxes still hanging around.

If you are eager to get rid of all the extra chocolate in the house, the best thing is to get baking and put them to use. You may not want to see another Quality Street, so why not throw the chocolates into a mixer with a few other ingredients and get rid of all those sweets sitting in your kitchen.

Brownies are a really simple way of using up chocolate and of course they are absolutely delicious. Here is a very easy brownie recipe that will make good use of those leftovers.

Ingredients

  • 50g Self Raising Flour
  • 35g Cocoa Powder
  • 180g Caster Sugar
  • 135g Butter (softened)
  • 2 Eggs
  • Leftover chocolates chopped up into small pieces

Method

  • Pre-heat your oven at 180C
  • Sift your flour and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl.
  • Add sugar, butter, and two eggs into the bowl and mix all the ingredients together.
  • Once the batter is smooth, add in your chopped up pieces of chocolate and give the batter another mix.
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread your mixture across the tray.
  • Bake the mixture at 180C for 30-40 minutes
