Easter Monday reopening for Doon Valley Railway as East Ayrshire tourist attraction set to welcome visitors back

Scotland’s only preserved industrial railway is set to welcome back visitors to enjoy scenic train trips of the Ayrshire countryside from Monday.

Doon Valley Railway, situated near Patna and operated by the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group, will open on Easter Monday, April 18 with a host of fun for all the family to get involved in.

The heritage diesel locomotive, Powfoot No.1, will be operating the ‘Easter Bunny Special’, with the first train departing at 11am for a 15 minute return trip in the scenic Doon Valley.
