Easter egg warning issued to Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's customers

Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's shoppers have been issued an Easter egg warning.

Easter is just around the corner, with many taking to local supermarkets to get their hands on a chocolate egg for their loved one or as a sweet treat for themselves.

However, a leading charity is warning supermarket shoppers that they are missing out on free cash but purchasing Easter eggs from major retailers across the country. Easyfundraising is keen for shoppers to know that they could actually get their hands on all the chocolate-y goodies they need through charity website as well as getting retailers to give an egg to good causes on their behalf - without adding any costs to their grocery bill.

Supermarket giants including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainbury's are all offering the service, with shoppers able to get their hands on chocolate eggs for as little as £1.

Millions across the UK are expected to buy eggs in the coming days and weeks, with the charity hoping many will opt to give a little to their favourite charities via the scheme, the ECHO reports.

James Moir, the company’s CEO, said: "Lots of us will be looking forward to indulging in some Easter eggs over the next few weeks with offers and promotions from many supermarkets attempting to invite us to make some purchases. What we need to let people know is that when they buy their shopping from one of the major supermarkets online, they can use easyfundraising to get a bit of extra cash; not for them, but for their favourite charity. Don’t leave it to the last minute to get all your groceries.

"When you purchase through our website, the supermarket will make a donation to the good cause of your choice and it won’t add anything extra to your shopping bill. So, you can shop in the confidence that your favourite charity will benefit from whatever goods you purchase."

There are alternatives to Easter eggs too, with the charity also offering a gift giving service to make someone smile this Easter.

The retailers offer a fixed donation per transaction, with fees a little higher if you are a new customer. You can visit the easyfundraising for more information.
