EastEnders teen rushed to hospital as the Brannings face more turmoil

EastEnders is lining up further turmoil for teenager Amy Mitchell, as her self-harming storyline continues next week on the BBC soap.

Amy has been struggling in recent weeks after rumours spread around the school about her and love interest Denzel.

While the pair are no longer together, Amy is desperate to reconcile - with her dad Jack Branning initially keeping them apart.

In recent weeks, her worried dad and her stepmother Denise Fox learned of her secret battle with self-harming.

While they've encouraged her to seek help, Jack is on rocky grounds with his daughter, and wife Denise, at the moment.

Amy has been speaking to a therapist, but next week worrying news causes her to relapse.

When Amy and Denzel are finally allowed to see each other, with Jack confirming to Howie that Amy is getting lots of support, the teens have a heart-to-heart.

But their pal Nugget ruins things when he sees them, and mistakenly tells them Jack has been fired over his recent assault on Denzel.

Amy is distraught, and as she races home alone she self-harms again.

Jack fears the worst when he gets a call to say Amy has missed her therapy session.

As he and Denise rush outside, they are panicked to see an ambulance outside their house with Amy being loaded in.

Jack races over and gets in, as he promises Amy everything will be okay as they leave for the hospital.

At the hospital, Jack is guilt-ridden over Amy's struggles and his recent actions at her bedside, as he hopes she will be okay.

The nurse tells him and Denise that Amy must see a psychiatrist before being discharged, leaving them hopeful Amy will open up.

When she wakes up, an emotional Jack breaks down as he tells her he can't lose her - while he soon has to leave as he's called back into work.

But will Jack be able to offer more time and support to his daughter, and can Amy get the help she desperately needs?
