EastEnders residents will be "haunted" in the heartbreaking fallout to possibly tragic Christmas events.
Christmas Day explodes for the Carters, and a sequence of events see Mick Carter exit the show for good - with him possibly killed off.
Events reach a huge climax in his storyline with ex Linda Carter and pregnant partner Janine Butcher, when Janine's lies are finally exposed.
New spoilers have teased the aftermath of the big episode, and what has been confirmed to be Mick's last day in Walford.
It's said characters are "haunted" by what has happened and residents struggle with some news, while spoilers remain secretive as to the actual details of what goes down.
What is known is that Janine is finally rumbled, and her secrets and lies explode in dramatic fashion - while Mick's world "implodes" around him.
Fans know that earlier this year, Janine's rivalry with love rival Linda Carter over Mick left Linda fighting for her life.
Janine crashed the car they were in before fleeing the scene, not before moving Linda over into the driver seat - as to make it look as though she had crashed the car while drunk.
The truth has not been revealed, and neither has the fact she almost had Linda's daughter Annie taken away from her.
She paid Jada Lennox to set Linda up by hiding booze around the alcoholic's home, with Janine keen to make it seem as though Annie was not safe in her care.
Jada planned to tell the truth but was threatened by Janine, leading to her fleeing Walford in August.
Now, Jada makes her way back to Walford just as Mick's mother Shirley Carter vows to get to the bottom of what Janine is hiding.
Everything comes out in the open, and it seems Janine's daughter Scarlett could provide Shirley with the final piece of the puzzle to prove what Janine has done.
Spoilers reveal all hell breaks loose at The Vic as Mick reels from what has happened, and he's forced to make a decision.
In the days that follow Christmas Day, it seems things are not clear and the full truth has yet to be revealed.
Spoilers add: "The residents of Walford wake up to the confusing news that The Vic isn’t opening, and news continues to spread about what has happened leaving everyone stunned."
Another line reads: "The truth about what happened on Christmas day is out and is the conversation of the Square but poor Scarlett gets a rough deal when she is the target of someone’s rage."
With Janine also leaving in the episodes, her and Mick's fate are yet to be confirmed.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
