Actor Zack Morris has moved into a new big role in a USA TV series since leaving EastEnders and Albert Square earlier this year.
The 24-year-old actor had landed himself a huge new role in Disney+ remake of Goosebumps, based on the popular of R L Stein's children's horror books. Goosebumps was originally a huge hit on children's TV in the UK in the 1990s, before being snapped up by Disney+ to be made this year.
Actor Zack Morris, who was known for his role as Keegan Baker in BBC soap EastEnders, will now play Issiah, a popular football star who is hiding his family’s money worries from those around him.
Also joining the stellar cast is Picard star Isa Briones who will play bookworm Jane, opposite Zack.
Variety confirmed that both Isa and Zack will be playing high-schoolers in the new series.
A synopsis for the new Disney+ series reads: "The series follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together — thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries and pasts with each other – in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process."
Other star names who have joined the series include Ana Yi Piug, Justin Long, Miles McKenna and Will Price.
Zack left EastEnders in March this year, after playing the role of Keegan Baker for five years. In an interview with Metro the actor revealed his departure was to pursue other opportunities in his career.
He said: "I’ve learned so much there, it’s the best place to really learn the craft. You work with all of these big storylines, different actors and directors and that is a skill within itself. I learnt a lot for the skill of acting but also what it’s like to be an actor."
He added: "I don’t want to take my foot of the gas pedal; you can talk about storylines, but for me, personally, that is the proudest thing – I did all of that, I stayed hungry, I gave it my best and I couldn’t do anything more than that. I’ve given everything; blood, sweat and tears, literally all of it!"
Speaking of new opportunities, he added: "I am going to try and go for gold, take every opportunity I can get. Trying new characters, reading new scripts – just broadening my horizon and testing myself. I am hungry, I am ready."
