Vicki Michelle joined the cast of EastEnders as Jo Cotton, the supposed ex-wife of Rocky Cotton, played by Brian Conley, but the 'Allo 'Allo! star has teased there could be more to her character than meets the eye.
The actress joined Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show on Monday to discuss her EastEnders stint and her hopes for her future in Albert Square.
Rocky's past is set to catch up with him as Kathy Beale ( Gillian Taylforth ) steams ahead with their upcoming nuptials unaware that her fiancé got married to Jo 25 years earlier and never filed for divorce.
As the reformed con-man finally prepares to come clean, he'll be confronted by Jo who arrives in Walford sent to cause trouble and prevent her husband from moving on with his life.
Talking to Lorraine, Vicki said: "She's strong, she's feisty, I think she's there to stir things up."
The ITV presenter asked about Vicki's long-term future on the BBC soap to which she admitted she "hoped" she returned.
Speaking about her on-screen husband Rocky: "He's in big trouble so there's going to be fireworks and [Gillian's Kathy] is going to get married to him."
"I'm loving it and it would be lovely if they extended the character," she confessed.
"Sometimes that happens you're only in it for a short period of time but you make such an impact that people want you back there and Vicki there's huge affection for you," Lorraine added,
When it was announced Vicki was joining the soap, she said: “I’m so excited to be in EastEnders and everyone has been so lovely. Jo Cotton is a great character and it is such a great story. I can’t wait for the audience to meet her.”
Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer added: “We’re thrilled to welcome the immensely talented Vicki to the EastEnders family, as she brings to life the character of Jo Cotton. Vicki is the perfect fit to take on the elusive character of Rocky’s wife that we know very little about. Brash, quick-witted, and extremely glamorous, Jo is akin to her long-lost husband, Rocky and as you would expect she is immediately thrown into the heart of the drama when she arrives in Walford."
