EastEnders ' Ash Panesar actress Gurlaine Kaur Garcha has reacted to a twist surrounding her character's mother Suki Panesar.
Ash has yet to find out the truth about Suki's sexuality and her secret romance with Eve Unwin, which has been on and off for months.
It's not yet known if and when Ash will learn of her mother's relationship, while actress Gurlaine teased Ash would be surprised by her mother's secret.
Viewers have seen Suki be judgemental of Ash in the past in regards to her own sexuality, with Ash being bisexual.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Gurlaine explained how Suki's treatment of Ash in the past would leave the character shocked and confused, once she finds out about her mother's romance with another woman.
She told us: "I don't think she will see it coming. It's interesting; will she be supportive of it or angry at it, because she wasn't that supportive of Ash and her own sexuality.
"I think it's something that is really interesting. I can't wait for her to find out, and I can't wait to see how Ash reacts."
Gurlaine also revealed how Ash might react to Suki's killer secret if she learned the truth, saying: "I think she's very headstrong and morally right, but when it comes to family she is there for them
"So I think her number one priority will be trying to understand why her mum has done this and what she has done.
"When she does find out what the reason is, I think she'll be very supportive, loving and caring, so I think it will be a battle for her of what is morally right, and what her mum has been through, so it will be interesting to see."
It comes amid "explosive" scenes for the family, as Gurlaine teased the moment the family may finally learn that Ravi Gulati is actually a Panesar.
Teasing what was ahead for rivals and brothers Kheerat and Ravi, Gurlaine told us: "There's good stuff coming up between them two and I think it's a really interesting dynamic, and whether hate turns to love or stays as hate.
"It will be interesting to see but there are good things coming up for those two!"
Gurlaine added: "It is exciting. The next few weeks the Panesars go on a whole journey. There is so much going on, their dad's back, Suki is in Mumbai, and what's gonna happen when she is back?
"I think what is great is we see those ups and downs, and the togetherness. We see it all and that's what families are like."
On whether Ash will accept Ravi into the family, she went on: "I think Ash has always been wary of Ravi and his intentions.
"But to find out that he's a part of the family I think she will welcome him. She is a very family orientated person. She hasn't got a mean streak. We have seen mean streaks but it has always been through protection, she loves her family.
"So I think she'll be glad to welcome someone into the fold, and will be protective of him."
