EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy admits she uses her nanny to go to the pub

Natalie Cassidy admits one of the perks of having a nanny is being able to go to the pub.

The EastEnders star, 39, has two daughters Eliza, 11 and Joanie, six, and is engaged to cameraman Marc Humphreys.

When she's not waltzing around Walford as Sonia Fowler, the mum-of-two enjoys a night out at her local, which is full of EastEnders fans.

Speaking about the importance of having some 'me time', Natalie said: "You've got to make time for yourself.

"So I've got a nanny and I've got minimum hours I've got to pay her a week and if I'm not busy I make sure I get a pub night in.

"I don't go every week and I try not to drink on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday," reports Jam Press.

Natalie has been praised for her down-to-earth attitude, particularly on social media where she often posts smiley snaps of her family.

However, the actress was recently criticised for sharing a picture of her daughter being homeschooled during the teacher's strike.

Natalie took to Instagram to post a sweet snap of her and her daughter Joanie sitting at the dining table.

They were surrounded by maths and spelling books as the actress told fans the six-year-old supported her teachers.

"Homeschooling this morning. Is it mad that I actually miss it a little bit?!?" she captioned the post.

"I have always loved learning with my kids at home, I have always bought lots of books to do if we have any available time.

Half a million workers – including school teachers – went on strike in what was the biggest day of industrial action in more than a decade earlier this month.

But some of Natalie's fans thought she should have taken advantage of the occasion and given Joanie the day off.

"Let the poor thing have a day off learning and let her chill its only one day ffs," one user said.

But Natalie replied: "She wants to do it," adding a smiley emoji.

Others praised Joanie for supporting the strike, writing: "Love the fact she's in her uniform too, mine is still in his PJ's!"

Natalie shares her daughter Eliza with her ex Adam Cottrell and Joanie with cameraman Marc.

The actress met her fiance in 2014 and the couple got engaged the following year.
