EastEnders star hints Mick will 'feel Janine's wrath' ahead of explosive Christmas 'death'

EastEnders' Janine Butcher actress Charlie Brooks has hinted Mick Carter could be in danger in the coming weeks.

It's been teased Danny Dyer's character could die at Christmas, as this is when he bows out of the BBC soap for good.

Pictures from filming have appeared to show explosive scenes, with Mick appearing to jump off of a cliff - and Janine seemingly caught up in a car incident.

Rumours suggest Janine will drive into the sea with Linda Carter, her love rival, in the car with her.

Mick could jump in an attempt to save them, while it's also been teased that the character will drown.

Nothing has been confirmed by the stars or the soap ahead of the festive episodes, while pregnant Janine is desperate to get fiancé Mick down the aisle sooner rather than later.

Now, actress Charlie has hinted that if things don't go her way, Janine will turn on Mick and ensure he feels her wrath.

Teasing possible drama ahead, amid the rumours of a deadly Christmas ahead of her own exit on Boxing Day, the star teased Mick might want to watch out.

She said: "Yes, I would hope so! Janine won't change her colours, and if someone turns on her, she will be the first person to retaliate.

"If she feels like all hope is lost, then you will feel her wrath. She's an emotional woman, she can't control that, and she doesn't behave well or appropriately because she doesn't know how to behave well or appropriately.

"My version of Janine is that there's a deep self-loathing in her and hurt people hurt people, don't they?

"There's a sadness to her, I think. There's so much grandiose 'I'm wonderful, and Mick's lucky to have me' and all that is on the surface but actually, what's going on underneath is a very small child, a little girl who's totally lost and trying to survive and has never felt looked after.

"There's been abandonment, she's had trauma, and it plays out in all the wrong ways."

On her character's wedding hopes, Charlie went on: "Yes, because her panic is that he's going to change his mind, he's not going to want to marry, and he loves Linda.

"But if she can get him down the aisle, then that's it, signed and sealed. And at worst, it means she's got ownership over the pub if nothing else."

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
