EastEnders star Emma Barton has been secretly dating a British rock star - and the pair are said to be 'smitten'.
The 45-year-old actress has been linked to alternative rock singer Jason Perry who is a member of ‘90s band ‘A’.
The group's single Starbucks entered the top 20 in 2002 and Nothing was a top 10 hit the same year, cementing their success in the memorable pop era, reports the Mirror.
Emma and Jason have been tight-lipped about their relationship - but have also been leaving adorable messages posts for each other on social media.
Jason has shared photos of Emma on his own Instagram feed alongside cute posts including: “I’m feeling happier than ever thanks to this gorgeous lady.”
While smitten Emma has been leaving love heart emojis in the comments section of Jason’s posts and has even branded him “my man”.
A friend told the Sun on Sunday “The couple are smitten with each other and are very sweet to be around.”
Emma always kept her private life under the radar. She rarely speaks about her romances and stays out of the limelight, but it is known that actress was going through her painful divorce just as she joined the Eastenders cast.
She, along with Nigel, were said to be "devastated" by the split. The marriage lasted from 2002 until 2005.
A friend of the couple told the People at the time: "Both are devastated their marriage didn't work out. Ultimately it was Emma who decided they couldn't go on. It hasn't been easy on either of them."
She also dated a police officer named Harry Waddington in the past, having been introduced by his brother who Emma starred alongside in a West End production of Grease.
Emma previously dated fellow EastEnders actor Joel Beckett, who played Jake Moon in the soap between 2004 and 2006, too.
The star, who has famously played Honey Mitchell in EastEnders since 2005, was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 where she finished in second place alongside dance parter Anton Du Beke.
Meanwhile, Jason was previously married to a woman named Holly, tying-the-knot in 2000 and welcoming four children together; sons Zac in 2003, Joshua in 2004 and Louie in 2010 and daughter Primrose Violette in 2015.
As well as creating music of his own, Jason has produced and written hits for other singers including McFly and Don Broco.
