EastEnders ' Lola Pearce actress Danielle Harold has broken her silence after filming what is believed to be her final scenes on the BBC soap.
Lola will tragically died amid her brain tumour battle in the coming months, with her told recently she didn't have long to live.
The character found out late last year that she had a brain tumour, before being told the tragic news that it was terminal and inoperable.
Upcoming scenes will see Lola making memories with her young daughter Lexi Mitchell and her husband Jay Brown, ahead of her devastating death.
Amid the actress being spotted filming some of her final scenes on the show, she has spoken out about the "hard" storyline in an emotional Instagram post.
The star discussed the plot and Lola's diagnosis, as she thanked viewers for their messages and for sharing their own stories about the disease.
Posting a message alongside a photo of Lola in a hospital bed, she wrote: "Lola’s story has been a very hard one to tell and one that means so much to me and sadly effects so many people.
"Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet historically only 1% of research is allocated to this devastating disease.
"I would like to take a moment for everybody that has reached out to me and shared their experiences with me , I have read every message And hold all of your messages close to my heart whilst playing this story.
"I have been blessed to meet the most incredible people and work with some wonderful charities along the way and I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for all your support advise and love."
Fans and co-stars of the actress raced to offer their messages of support to her on the post, ahead of her bowing out of the role for good.
It's not yet confirmed when Lola will die and when her final episode will air, with actress Danielle also not confirming when she stops filming.
It was announced last year that she was leaving the role and Lola was being killed off in the devastating storyline.
This week, cast members were pictured filming on location as Jay and Lola prepare to make final memories together at the beach.
Danielle and her co-star Jamie Borthwick were snapped filming emotional scenes by the sea, with Lola in a wheelchair as her health continues to deteriorate.
In scenes to air on the BBC soap next week, Lola will ask Jay to adopt her young daughter Lexi but how will he react?
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
