Bobby Brazier has paid a touching tribute to his late mother Jade Goody despite recently saying that he does not feel like he was with her long enough to miss her.
The 19-year-old model and EastEnders actor was just five year’s old when former Big Brother star Goody died of cervical cancer aged 27 in 2009, leaving Jeff Brazier to raise him and younger brother Freddy.
Recalling what he remembered of Goody, he told The Times: “Not a whole lot. Maybe memories of memories. I’m always being told about her and what she meant to people. I guess I know my mum through other people’s memories of my mum.”
When asked if he “misses” his mum, the teenager poignantly replied: “I don’t. Because I don’t feel like I was with her long enough to miss her.”
Today, on the 14th anniversary of her passing, Brazier hailed Goody as his “guide” in a new Instagram post.
Taking to social media to share pictures from a recent photo shoot, he wrote alongside the post: “Genes on his side, God in his heart and Goody as his guide.”
The subtle nod got the thumbs up from his followers who rushed to the comments section to share their approval.
“Every time I see u on screen I see ur mum. The resemblance is undeniable. Sure she is with u today and always,” wrote one fan.
“Goody as his guide. Beautiful,” penned a second.
“Still breaks my heart when I think of your mum’s passing you were so young. Great to see you doing so well,” added another.
