EastEnders' Kheerat will go on trial next week - as Suki struggles when killer evidence re-emerges.
Suki was the one who attacked Ranveer, leading to his death after he tried to attack her. Her son Kheerat had stepped in to admit to what happened in a bid to save his mum from going to prison but with his case back in court, all the memories soon flood in for Suki.
She is wracked with guilt over what happened, but is left panicking when she discovers a hidden memory stick with footage of the attack that she carried out on Ranveer which she later discovers is gone and Nish has it.
Balvinder Sopal - who plays Suki - said: "The news of Kheerat’s trial literally breaks her. There’s a whole load of guilt and self-loathing, hatred and pain going on. Kheerat is Suki’s right hand man and he always has been, so to lose him is like losing a limb.
"I think she’s found it difficult ever since he’s been away. Also, she’s in this marriage that is just horrible – it’s stifling, controlling and it’s really taken the shine, the power and the fire out of Suki. Kheerat was her support network so to not have him there is crushing for Suki. Knowing it was her fault too is doubly crushing."
Suki then finds the memory stick, convinced Nish has been keeping the evidence in a bid to control her.
"Suki finds the footage on the USB stick of her knocking Ranveer over the head with green clock and I think it just brings everything back again," she said, "I think she’s very confused about how Nish has come across it because Ravi has told her that it was deleted and there was no evidence of it. So for it to now appear out of nowhere, she’s wondering what’s going on and who is lying to who.
"I think she’s just trying to get a grasp on the situation and thinks he’s using it to try and control and manipulate her. They’re in a marriage where Nish claims to know her but he doesn’t really know anything about her."
She explained that Suki isn't really aware about how much Nish wants to control her.
"They’ve had 20 years or so apart and they’ve grown as different people, so they don’t really know each other. She might be aware of his control but I don’t think she’s fully aware of the extent of his control," she shared.
