EastEnders is heading for heartbreak next week as Lola Pearce’s wedding approaches amid her terminal cancer diagnosis.
The fun-loving hairdresser (Danielle Harold) previously gathered her friends and family for a meal to tell them she and groom Jay Brown ( Jamie Borthwick ) had decided to bump up their wedding so it was only a fortnight away.
However, as the blushing bride is set to be walking down the aisle very soon, her brain tumour diagnosis could throw the plans into doubt.
Lola was diagnosed with the tumour late last year and was later told that her illness is terminal, after actress Danielle announced she would be exiting the soap in upcoming scenes.
Now, as the big day approaches for the loved up couple to tie the knot, BBC spoilers have revealed that Lola is left stressed over her hen do.
The bride-to-be says she looks terrible and feels awful, but her doubts are swiftly put to bed by Denise (Diane Parish) and Kim ( Tameka Empson ).
The pair give Lola a fabulous makeover, leaving her feeling confident and happy ahead of a fantastic night out with her best friends to celebrate her last day of singledom.
However, the following day as she prepares to walk down the aisle, Lola again feels terribly unwell.
As maid of honour Kim arrives to help her get ready, Lola tells her that she’s having worrying symptoms.
She panics about what might happen in the future, and Kim and Denise do their best to calm her down and reassure her.
But with Lola deteriorating, a worried Kim decides to take a detour on the way to the wedding so she can be checked out at the hospital first.
In later scenes, Kim is left shocked when Lola tells her that she can't marry Jay today after all.
As Lola contemplates her decision, she's unaware that Billy has tracked down her mum Emma and is trying to persuade her to come to the wedding.
Jay is furious again when he discovers what Billy is up to, especially without telling Lola first.
The big day goes from bad to even worse when Jay arrives at the wedding venue to speak to Lola, only to find that she's nowhere to be seen.
While Jay nervously awaits the arrival of his bride at the registry office, will she make it to the wedding after all?
