EastEnders reveals Phil Mitchell and Keanu Taylor twist fans 'did not see coming'

EastEnders left fans reeling with a huge bombshell on Thursday night, as Phil Mitchell and Keanu Taylor were embroiled in a twist.

Keanu made his surprise return to the BBC soap this month, after fleeing in 2020 after the boat crash.

He had actually left over Christmas 2019, after Phil, Ben and Louise Mitchell all plotted to have him killed - with Martin Fowler blackmailed into murdering him.

Keanu had been cheating on pregnant Louise with Phil's wife Sharon, with Sharon also falling pregnant.

Martin actually faked Keanu's death and let him go on the run, only for Karen's son to return a few months later to get his revenge.

His final showdown with Phil and Ben caused the boat crash that killed Sharon's son Dennis - so Keanu ran off again.

He made his return this month and it appeared he had teamed up with DCI Keeble to bring down Phil for once and for all.

Keeble has her own grievances with Phil and the Mitchells, and has been meeting up with Keanu to try and trap Phil.

But in the latest episode it was confirmed to be a double bluff, as Phil confirmed he and Keanu had actually teamed up despite their past, to bring down Keeble together.

While recent episodes have seen Phil threaten his former son-in-law and even punch him, their row was all an act.

As the latest episode came to an end, Phil met Keanu at The Arches and spilled all on their plan.

He declared Keeble had no idea what was headed her way, and what the pair of them had planned for her.

Viewers were shocked by the twist, with many confessing they were not expecting it.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "OMG Phil and Keanu are working together I did not see that coming."

Another tweeted: "OMG Keanu & Phil are actually secretly working together? Total double cross which absolutely no one would of ever seen coming that's for sure. Hope it's not a double double cross & Keanu only playing Phil? That's just way too complicated even for Albert Square lol."

A third surprised viewer said: "keanu and phil are working together?!!! wtf."

Meanwhile, a fourth viewer wrote: "Wow Keanu & Phill working together," as a fifth said: "I AM BUZZING KEANU AND PHIL ARE WORKING TOGETHER OMG."
