EastEnders viewers have been speculating there is more to new character Reiss Colwell on the BBC soap, as he was revealed to be the great-nephew of late character Dot Branning.
He's Sonia Fowler's new love interest, and recent scenes have seen him getting closer to her and trying to help her with house drama.
But amid fans predicting there's more to the tale, viewers may recognise the newcomer.
Reiss is played by actor Jonny Freeman, who has had three other roles in another soap as well as stints in other big TV series.
Jonny has appeared in BBC daytime soap Doctors in three different roles in the past, between 2007 and 2012.
He also played a character in former BBC hospital drama Holby City back in 2010, while other roles include appearances in Dalziel and Pascoe and Bloods.
Jonny may also be known for his roles in BBC series Silent Witness, as he played two different characters across three episodes which aired between 2014 and 2018.
Another role of Jonny's is his 65 episodes as Frank London in M.I. High, between 2009 and 2014.
His arrival and possible romance with Sonia comes amid speculation he is after Dot's money, or perhaps he isn't even a relative of the character.
Some fans have even gone as far as to suggest that Reiss might end up being the soap's next big serial killer, which other viewers are not so sure about.
Then there's the speculation that he somehow knows Sonia's new lodger Jed, with his past yet to be explored.
Fans are hoping for some happiness for Sonia, but is Reiss hiding his true intentions?
Taking to Twitter with their theories, one fan said: "No but why do I feel like Reiss is an undercover villain?"
Another tweeted: "Watch out Reiss has that look in his eye," as a third wrote: "reiss is gonna murder jed omg hurry up and do it i beg."
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
