The Knight family are set to be ripped to shreds as they discover the truth about Rose as EastEnders continues to air the gripping storyline.
Cindy Beale marked her return to the BBC One soap, a quarter of a century after she was supposed to have died in prison during childbirth.
Actress Michelle Collins was seen sitting on a sunlounger and sipping a cocktail as her estranged on-screen husband George Knight attempted to call her.
George who recently joined the soap as Elaine Peacock's boyfriend had previously been in a relationship with who he believed was called Rose.
However, in shocking scenes, he was informed that there was no evidence of a Rose Knight existing and that the woman in question had been living a lie.
As Wednesday's episode came to a close, Cindy appeared leaving viewers stunned.
In scenes which are yet to air, former boxer George struggles to come to terms with the revelation as he goes on the hunt to find out what actually happened to his former wife.
However, as his struggles continue to mount, Elaine, who he recently moved into the Queen Vic with becomes suspicious about his actions.
George's lies soon become too much for him and everything is unravelled when he's confronted by Elaine.
But while George is revealing all about his ex-wife, who walked out on him and their two daughters, things don't go to plan as they're interrupted by his younger daughter, Ana.
Unable to hide the truth after discovering she had overheard things, George confesses all to Anne but insists she must keep it to herself and not tell her big sister, Gina.
Before the news was uncovered, Linda Carter had been growing suspicious of George and had Phil Mitchell do some digging to get to the bottom of the mystery.
"I think because George has been through similar things with Rose, he sort of gets it. He has more empathy with Linda than I think people realise because he knows where she's coming from. He is trying to be tolerant because he gets it – the Knights have all just arrived in her life, and it's hard. I mean, the last stranger who moved into The Vic was Janine, and she took Linda's husband," Colin Salmon – who plays George – has revealed Linda's connection to the story.
"Phil approaches George and tells him what's going down. So, George is like, 'OK, Linda's been talking to Phil,' and that angers him a little bit. George is very conscious of who the alphas are. He thinks it's a bit treacherous of Linda to go to Phil when she could have just asked him. But now she's started to rattle the cage, which for George is a dangerous cage to rattle because it's very, very painful."
