EastEnders fans are convinced they've worked out who the next owners of the Queen Vic pub after Mick Carter's disappearance.
Mick Carter – played by Danny Dyer – appeared to meet his end when he drowned in the frozen water trying to save his partner Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and his ex-wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) after a dramatic set of scenes. Linda made it out the water whilst Janine did too, but her fate was sealed the next day when she was arrested.
With Mick disappeared – and seemingly dead – there will need to be a new owner of the Queen Vic. Technically, Mick and Linda are still the landlords but Shirley is also a huge part of the pub.
Now fans of the BBC soap are sure they know who might be the new landlords after Kat Slater made a big decision about her future with Phil Mitchell last night following a horror shooting stand off with DCI Keeble.
As she rushed home to be with Phil, she told him she wanted to be with him. Heartbroken, Alfie told her he was done and there seems to be no chance for Kat and Alfie anymore, with her having had made her decision too.
Viewers are convinced this paves the way for Linda and Alfie to spark up a romance or friendship and run the Queen Vic.
"Kat sticking with Phil too, a surprising move. I think maybe necessary for the character development of Alfie. Perhaps he can have a full time role in the queen vic and maybe get with Linda later in the year #EastEnders," one wrote.
A second added: "Hopefully Alfie will end up Linda…And run the Vic! Kat will regret choosing Phil in the end!" as a third shared: "EastEnders Now that Kat has decided to stay loyal to Phil I wonder if my original theory could come true? Could Alfie and Linda sleep together and run the bar together? We know Alfie sneaks into the pub in a few weeks. Could this lead to Linda's return?"
It comes after EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw teased that Linda Carter will be involved in a never before done storyline this year.
Mick Carter – played by Dyer – appeared to meet his end when he drowned in the freezing water trying to save his current partner Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and his ex-wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) after a dramatic set of scenes landed them all in the icy depths as they all fought for their lives. Janine made it out, but her fate was sealed the next day when she was arrested.
He said: "Linda’s still very much at the heart of Albert Square and it’s so great to have Kellie. She’s not going to get over Mick very quickly. She was just reunited with him then he was snatched away from her so it won’t be all smiles straight away.
"There are big plans for Linda. She’s going to start shooting something in January that goes out in February and it’s something that we as a show haven’t done before. Linda’s at the centre of that."
"There is a question mark over the future of The Vic at the moment", he added of the owners of the pub now Mick's exit has aired, "Kellie knows what’s happening and we know what’s happening with the Vic. It’s very exciting."
