EastEnders ' Amy Mitchell star Ellie Dadd celebrated a birthday milestone earlier this month, and soap fans couldn't believe it.
The actress has played the role of Roxy Mitchell and Jack Branning's daughter since 2022, taking over the previous actress Abbie Burke who had played her since 2014.
Amy was born on the BBC soap in 2008 and was at the centre of a paternity twist storyline. She is currently 14 years old on the show and will turn 15 later this year.
Actress Ellie is a little older than her soap alter ego though, and recently she turned 18 years of age.
Ellie took to Instagram to share her birthday milestone, posting a series of stunning snaps from her celebrations.
EastEnders fans raced to wish her a happy birthday, but some couldn't hide their shock over her real age.
Taking to Instagram, many fans admitted they had no idea she was three to four years older than her troubled character.
One fan commented on her post: "Happy Birthday wow the big 18. still, see you as young Amy in Eastenders your a fantastic actress."
Another fan posted: "wow wouldn’t have thought that xx," as a third added: "Same that’s crazy."
It comes amid some big storylines for her character and teen Amy's loved ones.
Her younger brother Ricky Michell recently found out he was going to be a dad, after getting fellow 12-year-old Lily Slater pregnant.
Amy has yet to find out that her stepmother Denise Fox cheated on her dad Jack Branning with another man, Ravi Gulati.
Jack himself hasn't been coping well in recent months, struggling with his daughter Amy's self-harming battle.
Amy was at the centre of the difficult storyline last year after taunts at school led to her hurting herself.
The character tragically lost her mother Roxy in dramatic New Year's Eve scenes in 2017, with Roxy drowning in a pool after suffering a heart attack after drug use.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
