EastEnders fans have been left outraged after Chelsea Fox decided to make up an alibi for beau Ravi Gulati, after he was arrested.
Soap viewers blasted Chelsea's choice, as she ignored her family's advice to stay away from the criminal dad-of-one, with the episode ending in a kiss between the pair, who have been dating for the past few weeks.
Unbeknownst to Chelsea, Ravi got close to her in order to force her mum Denise to find out information about the police investigation around his dodgy dealings, run by police husband Jack.
Ravi blackmailed Denise to get the information, after the pair shared a smooch.
But, sick of Ravi's control and worried about his relationship with Chelsea, Denise tipped the police off about his stolen laptops, with the police storming into his bar and arresting Ravi in front of son Nugget.
Ravi was then released from jail on bail, and appeared heartbroken at the thought of not seeing his son grow up, with Denise also confronting him in the pub.
Chelsea, touched by Ravi's bond with Nugget, told him: "Ravi, you can’t go back to prison. You need an alibi. Consider it done."
Viewers were in uproar over Chelsea's move, particularly after she previously tried to cover for her killer husband Gray and dad Lucas.
They predicted it would all end in tears for the character, and worried what would happen to her son Jordan if she is caught lying to the police.
One person wrote on Twitter : "Don’t be stupid Chelsea!"
Another said: "I wouldn’t Chelsea!"
A third penned: "So, Chelsea was worried about Nugget, but what about Jordan? If she gets caught lying, what will happen with him?"
One soap fan said: "NOOO Chelsea, huge mistake on her part yet again seriously.
"The level of intense regret she's gona have when she finds out what kinda man Ravi's really like... Not only the totally dodgy, murder s**t basically Gray 2.0 but also him & her very own Mother seriously?"
Others hoped there would be a twist, and Chelsea is stringing Ravi along.
One person wrote: "There has to be a twist in this where Chelsea is playing Ravi. Look at how clever she was in taking down Gray. She set up Lucas on a drugs deal in Spain. She's a lot cleverer then she's making herself out to be right now."
Meanwhile, actress Heather Peace has teased the future for secret couple Suki Panesar and her character Eve Unwin.
The secret lovers have been on and off for months, not helped by the arrival of Suki's husband Nish Panesar last year.
Speaking about what the future holds for Suki and Eve, she spilled: "I would hope that they would end up together."
She said: "Eve is absolutely head over heels and she believes that they are soul mates. But ultimately, Suki hasn’t said the three magic words to her yet so she’s feeling dreadfully insecure."
EastEnders airs on BBC One from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm.
