BBC's flagship soap EastEnders has brought back Cindy Beale, played by Michelle Collins, from the dead in a dramatic twist. However Cindy is not the only one returning to Albert Square. Ian Beale, who is played by Adam Woodyatt, will also be returning to the soap, the BBC has confirmed.
It has been revealed that new Queen Vic owner George Knight, who believed he was married to a woman called Rose, was actually married to Cindy Beale. In 1998 Cindy was sensationally killed off by producers, albeit off-screen. Despite her apparent ‘death’ a body was never seen.
Ian left Walford in 2021 after his former best friend and then wife, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), tried to poison him alongside Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) as revenge for his involvement in her teenage son Denny’s death. Whilst the circumstances relating to Cindy's ‘death’, reappearance, and reunion with ex-husband Ian are yet to be revealed their explosive return is sure to send shockwaves around the Square – not least for the Knights who have no idea just where ‘Rose’ has been all these years.
Many fans are overjoyed to see the return of Cindy. One said: "SCREAMED CINDY BEALE MY FAVOURITE PAST CHARACTER IS BACK" and another added: "What amazing storylines EastEnders is giving us. Cindy Beale Simply Yes Yes Yes Duff Duff Duff Duff Duff Duff".
A third said: "Not fricking Cindy Beale risen from the dead! The drama is going to be explosiveeeee! EastEnders is EastEndering right now".
