EastEnders fans are fuming that there are spoilers floating around ahead of tonight's episode after the BBC soap was uploaded early to iPlayer.
Last night, millions of soap fans watched as Danny Dyer made his final exit from Walford, appearing to drown in the English Channel as he saved the lives of his pregnant wife Janine and childhood sweetheart, Linda.
But fans don't have to wait until 7:30pm tonight to see the fallout from the heartbreaking festive episode – it is already online.
It was uploaded to BBC iPlayer at 6am today, which is great news for viewers who want their Walford fix quicker, but catastrophic for those who avoid spoilers.
Tonight's episode will focus on the departure of scheming Janine Butcher, played by Charlie Brooks.
One fan said: "Tomorrow is [Janine's] last episode (another reason why it’s a dumb idea to release the episode early)."
Others fumed: "It’s stupid to release the episodes early when they are in their own time slot"; and "Just an absolute dumb decision by the BBC."
However some were pleased they didn't have to wait. One posted: "Just watched the boxing day ep on iPlayer! Great episode!"
Last night 3.3 million people tuned in to watch EastEnders ' Christmas episode, with its dramatic ending set to spark a new wave of storylines that continue in to early 2023 and beyond.
Kellie Bright, 46, who plays Linda said: "I'm quite excited about what it might be like for Linda now. Obviously she's going to be sad for a little while because she's there without him but it's like having a blank canvas, this new chapter for her, and I honestly don't know what they've got in store for her.
"We came in as a four, initially, then we became a five, but Danny and I were at the heart of that family and I think that even though we haven't been together in the show for the last year, there would always be a Mick and Linda thing while Mick was there... so Linda is just Linda. I don't know what that's going to bring - I'm quite excited!"
