The family who own the dog who appeared in EastEnders have given an update after revealing he could die in weeks.
The Bullmastiff Staffordshire Terrier cross is known to millions as Bronson during his time on screen with the Taylor family. Bronson, who's real name is Cyrus, hit screens in 2017 as the Taylor's family dog and appeared in dozens of episodes.
In an emotional scene in 2021, Bronson was killed off when his family were told to have him put down. Bronson appeared on EastEnders with his on-screen family as well as the others including Kush Kazemi and Denise Fox.
In real life, Cyrus - who is owned by Caroline - needs to have treatment for a brain tumour. Since the news broke, fans of the show have rushed to social media to share the Gofundme page and help give Cyrus a lifeline.
At the time of writing, the GoFundMe page has now hit £10,000 and Caroline has upped the target to £12,000 now.
Sharing an update with those who have left donations, Caroline wrote: "You people are amazing it’s very humbling that so many people that don’t know me or cy from Adam are pulling together to help."
One anonymous donor gave a whopping £5,000 to the cause.
Caroline previously revealed the GoFundMe was her last chance at saving Cyrus.
"Hi my name is Caroline mummy to this beautiful boy Cyrus," she wrote, "Cy has touched many hearts in his life playing bullseye on stage in Oliver then taking himself to the big screen becoming Bronson in EastEnders making us all so very proud.
"However, he sadly suffered a seizure last June followed by more this month prompting me to have tests done including a brain mri which has heartbreakingly revealed a tumour a number of options have been discussed."
She added: "It seems the gold standard radiotherapy to help shrink the tumour would be in Edinburgh much more high tech equipment being more precise and less time and stress on my boy. I hate asking for help never have before but have exhausted all my funds on tests so far. I’m not prepared to just give up on him he’s my world any help any share would mean so so much."
