EastEnders fans have 'worked out' the meaning of a big clue in the Christmas flashforward scene.
Fans tuning into a special episode earlier this year saw a flashforward scene from Christmas 2023 with Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki ( Balvinder Sopal ) standing over a dead body, but viewers have no idea what happened and who the body belongs to.
Viewers were desperately searching for clues about who was dead and what might have happened, with some focused on the appearance of a knight in the background behind Stacey Slater.
Some fans are convinced the knight could be related to someone being Linda's 'knight in shining armour' as she struggles with the ownership of the Queen Vic after Mick Carter's disappearance.
However, with the arrival of the Knight family on the Square, viewers are sure this new addition relates to them. The family are set to take over the pub as Linda is secretly teaming up with her mother, Elaine Peacock, who will be bringing her partner George Knight, and his two daughters, Gina and Anna, to Albert Square.
"Excited for this new family in #Eastenders including the recast of Elaine! Anyone else seeing the connection between the family name and the #Knight in the flash forward," one fan wrote, as a second added: "the knights in shining armour #eastenders."
Speaking of the Knights, Chris Clenshaw, the BBC soap's Executive Producer, said: "The arrival of the Knights brings a new dawn to Albert Square. George Knight is a charming rogue and an old-school gent who dotes on his two daughters, Gina and Anna.
"George will take up residence in The Queen Vic when he joins his beloved Elaine, a powerhouse of a land-lady who knows just how to have fun. The couple will be joined by feisty, determined and demanding Gina, who is as sharp and cool as cut diamonds but with a temper that blazes like fire, whereas younger sister, Anna is fun, loveable, and big-hearted, but don’t underestimate her."
He added: "George, Gina and Anna have been bound together for years and arriving in Walford is the fresh-start the Knights are looking for. We’re thrilled to welcome this hugely talented group of actors; Colin Salmon, Harriet Thorpe, Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford who will be immediately thrown into the heart of the Square, and we can’t wait for everyone to meet them."
The family will join in the early summer, long before the Christmas 'murder'.
