EastEnders' Linda Carter's dramatic return to the BBC One soap has been revealed.
Actress Kellie Bright has been on maternity leave from the soap for a while now, making a brief return recently as her on-screen husband Mick Carter's (Danny Dyer) new love interest Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) caused havoc for the pair.
Janine headed to see Linda at her mum's pub and offered to drink with her, prompting her to start drinking again in a part of her big scheme to end her and Mick's marriage for good.
But in new pictures, Linda's return to the soap has been confirmed as Kellie was seen filming scenes for Tina Carter's funeral.
Whilst viewers know what happened to Tina - who was killed by Gray last year and her body buried under The Argee Bhajee - the residents of Albert Square have been left none the wiser about what happened to Tina.
But after an explosion at the restaurant, Tina's body has been found and in spoilers from next week's show, Gray panics as he finds out Tina's body has been located, as the Carter family are also given the sad news.
The new photos show Linda swigging from a small spirits bottle outside the church as she reunites with Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill), who was seen hopping into the venue on a pair of crutches.
The snaps show Linda leaning by the door of the church as she drinks straight from the bottle, confirming the character is truly back on the booze after a relapse.
Mick and Janine have been growing close for a few weeks now, as the pair bonded before Christmas as they discussed The Vic. He admitted at the time that he had been struggling for cash, so the pair decided to hatch a plan together to try and outbid Peter Beale for the Christmas tree in the Square.
Following that, the pair shared a poignant moment together as Janine discussed a memory of her father, with Mick moving her with a kind word or two. It prompted the start of a special bond for the pair and they have since kissed at Christmas.
