EastEnders cast The Witcher star Aidan O’Callaghan as new manager of The Prince Albert

EastEnders has cast former Emmerdale actor Aidan O’Callaghan as the new manager of The Prince Albert.

Aidan, 33, will play the role of Lewis, who first arrives in Albert Square later this month after landing the manager’s job at the bar.

It's been reported that Lewis will befriend Ben Mitchell and the pair end up enjoying a night out on the town together.

However, when Lewis is later harassed by a homophobic gang, Ben (Max Bowden) ends up beating one of the thugs unconscious.

Irish actor Aidan is no stranger to acting in a soap as he previously appeared in Emmerdale back in February 2018 playing a character named Mike.

Since then, Aidan has appeared in a couple of TV series including The Rook and Wolfe.

He also plays the role of Kareg in The Witcher: Blood Origin which is the prequel to the hit Netflix series and set to be released some time this year.

But before he gets swept up in the world of Netflix, Aidan will be hanging out in Walford at the gay bar which is owned by Kathy Beale. She bought the lease in 2019 after cashing in on a £100,000 necklace.

Fans haven't seen much of the venue as of late, since after Mila Marwa (Ruhtxjiaïh Bellenea) was written out of the BBC soap.

Mila ran The Prince Albert but left Walford earlier this year following a harrowing storyline about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

Next week, spoilers confirm that Ben's true struggles will come to light, as others finally realise how fragile he is.

It all kicks off when Callum reveals that his work want him to be the face of a new campaign aimed at the LGBT+ community.

Ben immediately panics, fearing it could make him a target, and later on viewers will see Ben shaken when he hears a loud noise at the club.

Clearly struggling with past and recent trauma, he keeps it to himself and even though Callum picks up on his unease, he doesn't realise the full deal.

Ben soon takes matters into his own hands and meddles with Callum’s campaign offer, after admitting he doesn’t want him to take part.

Callum is furious when he learns what Ben has done, with his husband soon forced to admit his fears that Callum will be attacked again.
