Ben Mitchell left a family reeling on EastEnders tonight - as he made a killer confession.
The mechanic has been struggling following the end of his relationship with Callum, and viewers were left devastated when the BBC One soap aired horrifying scenes which saw Ben raped by Lewis, who he had thought he could trust and confide in.
He has now met old friend James, who has offered him drugs and fans are concerned about how his behaviour is spiralling, with his friend Kheerat one of those who is most worried about him.
During tonight's show, Ben woke up in The Arches, quickly hiding his drugs just as Kheerat walked in and expressed concern for his pal.
Ben quickly dismissed his worries, but things only got worse when Ben received an email reminder about his follow-up HIV test. Kheerat sensed something was wrong so pushed Ben to tell him the truth, and it was then that he confessed he might have HIV.
Worried for his friend's mental state, Kheerat tries his best to help and support Ben, offering to take him for the test at the local sexual health clinic, where Ben is thankfully given the all clear.
However, Kheerat grows even more concerned when Ben tells the nurse that he has taken drugs recently.
Kheerat remained supportive, telling Ben how important their friendship is - which only left him feeling guilty about his part in the death of Kheerat's brother Jags, who died in prison after he was killed by some fellow inmates.
Stressed by all that's going on, Ben took more drugs and ended up causing a scene at Peggy's, as everyone begs him to leave. Kheerat soon realised what was wrong and took him back to the family home to be checked on by Ash.
Angry, Ben refused the whole family's help, as mum Suki urged Kheerat to just let him leave if he wanted to.
"I'm not giving up on him," Kheerat insisted, but Ben soon lost it and told everyone that he caused Jags' death.
Jags found himself in prison after his mum Suki set him up in a bid to split him from Habiba Ahmed. She had framed him for a robbery on Ruby's nightclub as well as Martin Fowler being assaulted, but it was actually his brother Vinny behind it.
Whilst in prison, the Panesars arranged him to have protection through Ben, but he pulled it - and Jags was killed, something which Ben was responsible for as he had decided to step in as he was furious at Kheerat for dating Sharon Watts.
