Actor Harry Landis, who starred in Friday Night Dinner and had a role in EastEnders, has died aged 90. The news was confirmed by his agent.
The actor and director most recently played Mr Morris in the Channel 4 comedy. He died on Monday.
Sharry Clark Artists, who represented Mr Landis, announced the news in a Facebook post, which read: "Sad news. Our lovely client Harry Landis has passed to spirit.
"Harry had an amazing career and gained a new following in later life as Mr Morris in Friday Night Dinner. It was a privilege to have worked with him as a client. Harry you will be sadly missed. RIP."
Mr Landis played Grandma's boyfriend Mr Morris in Friday Night Dinner, reports the Mirror. He also had a role in A Hill in Korea as a conscript and he made a brief appearances in EastEnders as Felix Kawalski for two years.
Other films he starred in included Bitter Victory, Edge of Sanity, Ransom, The Informers, Private Potter, Dunkirk and Operation Bullshine. In 2014 Harry starred in the Hollywood blockbuster Edge of Tomorrow.
Following the news of his passing, his former co-star Tracy-Ann Oberman, who appeared in Friday Night Dinner between 2011 and 2020, paid tribute on Twitter. "Bloody loved #HarryLandis. I am so sorry to hear of his passing," she wrote.
Another fan penned: "So sad to hear this news. I loved him in Friday Night Dinner. Absolutely hilarious."
"Nooooo so sad to hear this," someone else tweeted.
"What a cast of FND and what a man. He'll be missed indeed," another fan of Harry's tweeted.
Harry lived in Hammersmith, west London, for more than 40 years, before returning to live in the East End in the 2010s, buying a flat in Spitalfields.
