EastEnders has aired an emotional exit for Ash Panesar - as she left a parting gift for her mum Suki.
Ash actress Gurlaine Kaur Garcha is departing the BBC soap, with her final scenes airing this evening as she said goodbye to her parents to take the new job she had been offered abroad. It was an emotional moment, with Ash making sure she had one final gift for her mum before she moved onto pastures new to start the next chapter of her life.
Viewers were emotional as Ash had one last gift for her mum, more control over the business and a night away with Eve.
As they bid their farewell on the Square, Nish told his daughter: "If things don't work out there, you get into any trouble," whilst Ash said back: "I will sort it myself and call you when it's done," which earned a laugh from her dad.
"That's my girl," Nish told her as Suki noted there was a suitcase they'd missed.
When Ash revealed it wasn't hers, Nish stepped in and told Suki: "It's yours. I've been thinking about the expansion in Leeds. You need something to get your teeth into, a project, so you leave tonight and the meetings are tomorrow.
"I thought you might need a little bit of support, so I asked Eve to accompany you."
The pair embraced, with Ash knowing full well about Suki and Eve's blossoming romance. When Suki asked if that was her who organised all this, Ash just simply said: "Master manipulator, I learned from the best."
She got into a taxi and bid farewell to the Square and her parents, as Eve looked at Suki with a devilish glint on her face and said: "Nish gave me one simple instruction, to take really good care of you."
Meanwhile, speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Gurlaine explained how Suki's treatment of Ash in the past would leave the character shocked and confused, once she finds out about her mother's romance with another woman.
"I don't think she will see it coming. It's interesting; will she be supportive of it or angry at it, because she wasn't that supportive of Ash and her own sexuality," she said previously, "I think it's something that is really interesting. I can't wait for her to find out."
