TV icon and much-loved kids presenter Lynda Baron has died aged 82, as confirmed by her agent and friends.
Lynda was best known for her roles in soap opera Eastenders as Linda Clarke and BBC Sitcom Open All Hours, where she played Nurse Gladys Emmanuel alongside Sir David Jason and Ronnie Barker that dated back to 1976.
A statement from Lynda's agency PA, where she has been a client for almost 30 years, has read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved client Lynda Baron.

“She was a wonderful actress and a great friend.
“Her iconic roles of Nurse Gladys in Open All Hours and Aunt Mabel in Come Outside were loved by all generations.
“We extend our deepest condolences to her daughter Sarah, her son Morgan and all her family.”
Lynda was the mother of Jane Beale in Eastenders, and has also appeared in Doctor Who, Last of the Summer Wine and Dinner Ladies.

Many will recognise Lynda as the kids television presenter of much-loved series Come Outside, where she played Auntie Mabel in the British educational TV series that ran from September 23 1993 to March 18 1997.
The Twitter account for Doctor Who has tweeted about the death of Lynda, stating; "We're sad to report the death of Lynda Baron, who starred in 'The Gunfighters', 'Enlightenment', and most recently 'Closing Time.'"
Clothing company Boohoo has sent their love, writing on Twitter: "Rest in peace to Lynda Baron, a national treasure and childhood icon to millions. We will love Auntie Mabel and Pippin always."
